DESCRIPTION
First edition of The Birds of the Palearctic Fauna by Charles Vaurie in the original publishers cloth bindings and unclipped dust wrappers.
Includes a volume on Passeriformes and Non Passeriformes, i.e. perching or non-perching birds.
Charles Vaurie was a French-American ornithologist and Curator at the American Museum of Natural History. He described for the first time three scarce birds, the cryptic flycatcher, Vilcambamba thisletail, and Vauries nightjar.
The volume on Passeriformes includes two sketch maps within the text.
CONDITION
In the original publishers cloth bindings and unclipped dust wrappers. Externally, smart. There is some wear to the dust wrappers. There is slight loss to the front of the dust wrapper to Passeriformes, and fading and spotting to the spine as well as general wear to the extremities. To Non Passeriformes, there is loss to the rear and tail of the spine as well as general fading and wear to the extremities. To the bindings, there is some minor bumping to the heads and tails of the spines. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.
