Alexandre de Bar (1821-1908) was a French painter, illustrator and engraver. He went to Egypt in 1856 to participate in an expedition to the sources of the Nile.
N.B.This lithogravure from around 1860 was the subject, on our part, of a specialtreatment in order to make disappear the outrages of time and, in particular,the numerous foxings which smeared it. After this treatment, we pasted it on awatermarked paper. This treatment had the effect of "rejuvenating"it; however, it remains an authentic lithogravure from the second half of the19th century.

N.B.: Cette lithogravure des environs de 1860 a fait lobjet,de notre part, dun traitement particulier afin de faire disparaître lesoutrages du temps et, enparticulier, les nombreuses rousseurs qui lamaculaient. Après ce traitement, nous lavons contrecollée sur un papierfiligrané. Ce traitement a eu pour effet de la "rajeunir"; ellereste cependant une authentique lithogravure de la seconde moitié du 19emesiècle.
