Hollinghursts novel follows a privileged, gay young man who saves the life of an elderly aristocrat who has a heart-attack in a public bathroom.
The novel won the Somerset Maugham Award in 1988, and the E. M. Forster Award of the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1989.
CONDITION
In the publishers original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. A touch of shelf wear to back strip tail, otherwise excellent. Dust wrapper fine. Internally, firmly bound. Signed to title page. Pages age toned due to paper type, but clean.
